SESSION FEE
The fee for a standard 50-minute session (in-person/video/telephone) is $270.
Ember Psychology & Wellbeing is unfortunately unable to offer bulk billing. However, our session fee is lower than the Australian Psychological Society (APS) National Schedule of Suggested Fees which is set at $318.
Please note that we are currently not accepting NDIS or WorkCover referrals.

Ember Psychology & Wellbeing provides psychological treatment under the Australian Government’s Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative. As such, you may be able to access Medicare rebates (for in-person/video/telephone sessions) set at $145.25 per session for up to 10 psychology sessions per calendar year (meaning that your "out of pocket" cost for each session is $124.75).
You will need to book an appointment with your GP to discuss a referral to see a psychologist under a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) to access this rebate. Your GP will initially refer you for up to 6 sessions, then if you need more, a letter to your GP will be written to support your request for the remaining 4 sessions.
The Medicare claim will be processed on your behalf after each appointment. The Medicare rebate will typically be in your bank account within 48 hours.
-
If you have private health insurance you may be eligible for a rebate from your provider. The level of cover is dependent on your provider and your personal cover, so please check with your provider first if you intend to make a claim.
Please note that you cannot use your private health insurance and access Medicare rebates simultaneously for your session.

We understand that for many reasons you may need to cancel or reschedule your appointment at times. When appointments are cancelled or rescheduled at short notice, it can be hard to offer that time to someone else who may also be waiting for support. Therefore, to maintain fairness to other clients, we kindly ask that you give at least 48 hours notice (2 business days) if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
Our late cancellations are charged at the following fee structure:
More than 48 hours notice (2 business days): no fee
Less than 48 hours notice (2 business days): 50% of the session fee
Less than 24 hours notice (1 business day) or failure to attend without any notice (“no-show”): 100% of the session fee
Please also note that:
If you’re unable to attend your session in person, we do offer Telehealth as an alternative
We understand that emergencies do happen, so please let us know as soon as you can, and we’ll take this into consideration
Cancellation fees cannot be claimed under Medicare or private health insurance
To help you remember your appointment, you will receive an appointment confirmation email upon booking, and a courtesy email and SMS reminder 4 days prior to your appointment. However, it remains your responsibility to track and attend scheduled appointments. Please note that the cancellation policy applies even if you do not receive the reminders
